I am interested in creating an environment that conveys a strongmood and a variety of interpretations. I am also very interested in how I can apply paint in a different way every time I paint. I am always experimenting with the figure, colors, landscape, composition, and with the medium of paint.

I often start with a general idea of sorts, a skeleton for a composition. But, I never really know what the outcome will be. That's kind of where I get my "fix". That is one of the aspects I love about painting. It's almost as if the work tells you what it needs as it develops.

After the intoxicating experience of creating hypermedia works, I am bewildered by my artistic reflection. Am I, as some ask, a painter? A poet? A sound manipulator? A multimedia tinkerer? I suppose some would say I am all of these. And others would say none.

Paulina Olowska

Seen in their New York debut, the collage paintings of the young Polish artist Paulina Olowska hit all the right notes, mainly that of a low-tech, post-Warholian harshness that mingles large-scale appropriated-image collage and paint while disdaining finish and technique.

The louche results resemble elegantly vandalized posters and seem eminently marketable: pleasingly unpleasant and a little hard to like. They suggest an admiration for the French Affichistes and American graffiti art off-set by a deep involvement with the image bank of Polish postwar life. This includes Soviet and American propaganda magazines and the contrasts between official and underground culture, flavored by a preference for grainy, blown-up images and texts that push everything toward a simpler, more innocent past.

Na afloop van AVL Ville heb ik, in de 3 jaar die ik bij AVL als free-lancer rondliep, de in's en out's van de container wel leren kennen.

Na het zien van deze video, hieronder wat interessante containerlinkies

Shipping Container Homes by Container City (05:06)

Containers are an extremely flexible method of construction, being both modular in shape, extremely strong structurally and readily available.
Container Cities offer an alternative solution to traditional space provision. They are ideal for office and workspace, live-work and key-worker housing.

rafael lozano-hemmer

Lozano-Hemmer (Mexico City, 1967) develops large-scale interactive installations combining the languages of architecture and performance art. His work uses technologies such as robotics, surveillance and telematic networks to create platforms for audience participation, creating "anti-monuments for alien agency". His large-scale light and shadow installations are inspired by animatronics, carnivals and phantasmagoria, situating the spectator as a fundamental component to “complete” the work.

Orly Cogan

I work with vintage, printed fabrics and found embroideries made by women of previous eras. I act as a collaborator, modernizing their traditional work and altering its original purpose. The fabric becomes the foundation for a fantastical, exotic dialogue between the old and the new. My art deals with history, tradition, mythology, nature, relationships and intimacy. The entwinement of contemporary motifs onto these vintage fabrics inspires contrasts and dialogues between the time and consciousness of the original creator and topics that concern us today.

saved by science

saved by science

As science has untethered itself from the concept of knowable material, electronic art forms, equally, have dissolved the confining one-way link between representation and the object. Art is no longer embedded in the object, but evolved into an information-processing event. My aim is for technology to open to experience the relationships of real and virtual, physical and immaterial spaces.

Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects
Working with artists and craftspeople is integral to what we do. In some cases, the architecture becomes the vessel that supports specific art installations. In others, the architecture and art are formed together to create a seamless spatial experience. In nearly all our projects, we work with craftspeople to fabricate specific architectural elements so that the detail of the work relates directly to the larger expression. Examples of this work include cast or slumped glass elements, metal fabrications, custom furniture and textile arts.

Lois & Franziska Weinberger

The starting point for the Weinbergers’ research is the idea of the garden as a metaphor for society. They refer to this as a site which is in constant flux rather than something fixed and unchanging. Within this "perfectly provisional realm", as they term it, they investigate the interaction between the uncontrolled forces of nature and socially imposed concepts of order and value. By observing the patterns of growth of wild plants within the city, and their effect upon the structures of urban life, their work becomes a political metaphor, suggesting models for alternative ways of living.

Trine Boesen

Trine Boesen has been called a pop-artist. She is not. While she does lift existing images from their original contexts and places them in new compositions, she never does this without first manipulating these images. To simply identify her pieces with advertising, consumerism and mass communication would be to miss the point and to completely overlook the many unusual layers and subtle narratives that exist within her pieces. While it might seem that she varnishes her work with pop, the priming consists of something other, that being the gothic, and in here lays its significance and its strength. :By Julie Damgaard Nielsen 2002
