Livia Marin Firmani

Livia Marin’s art practice is currently centred on everyday, often mass-produced objects such as cups, bowls, lipstick, babies’ bottles and bottle tops. She utilises these objects to make new object either by manipulating them, using them as moulds or making transformed copies of the Third Generation original often in completely different, usually industrial materials. For Marin it is not really important who builds the work, but how it has been made and she is particularly interested in the relationship between the new objects and the original. These new objects are often beautiful, always intriguing, and at times unsettling or bizarre.
