The 6emeia project was created and developed by the artists Anderson Augusto, also known as SÃO, and Leonardo Delafuente, also known as Delafuente. The duo live in the Barra Funda neighborhood of São Paulo where they began the project with the purpose of changing and transforming daily life.
The duo's objective is to modify the means within which we all live, proposing a new way to view things by reflecting upon themes generated through creative and unusual works. Such modifications are made by painting storm drains, light posts, manhole covers and any other object which makes up the urban scenario.

Martin Mull's new works on paper continue his visual and conceptual engagement with deconstructing modern American culture. Mining images from the 1940s to 1960s and using his distinctive photorealistic style, Mull creates narrative pastiches which often resemble old family photos or images drawn from a huge, collective image bank. At times outright amusing, the slightly noire and often surreal compositions render the works unsettling and enquiring rather than nostalgic or sentimental.

Bright Idea Shade

The Bright Idea Shade is a project of the Eyebeam OpenLab, by Sustainability Action Group members Michael Mandiberg and Steve Lambert, with Simon Jolly, Peter Duyan, and Oscar Torres.
We are converting all of our silver tipped incandescent bulbs into CFL bulbs (as they burn out.) The problem is a bare CFL bulb gives off harsh light that sometimes prevents people from making the change. So we set about designing a lampshade for the bulbs. We started with the Universal Polygon Lampshade and made it fit a CFL bulb, built it out of heat resistant photo diffuser material (found a diffuser material that could be laser cut, and built a laser cutter template.)

Dmitry Shorin is the young Saint-Petersburg artist. He worked out rigid, slashing, forceful, tactile visual style. Dmitry Shorin tries to emphasize a certain mental plan of youth, i.e. definite condition of consciousness. This condition is filled with discomfortable sense of necessary choice between reality of life and virtual reality. Now he puffs real, almost genre plan, accents corporality, now in one and the same work he throws up Rubik’s Cube, articulates plurality and invariant character.
Shorin’s characters are not glamour heroes. They are recognizable and defenseless, angular and uncared-for, they have abrasions and socks full of holes. What they can’t loose is their natural sexuality that is difficult to see in contemporary Russian art.

I see them everywhere. They're languishing on doorsteps, hanging out in the middle of the road, dangling off street signs, peeking out of piles of garbage, reclining in the middle of the sidewalk, riding the bus for free. A great number of them are bright yellow as if they're fresh and have just been dropped, although they appear in all states of decay. I don't know how or why they caught my attention, but within a week of being in London I couldn't get my mind off these banana skins. Where were they coming from?

Color is the ultimate tool a designer has at his or her disposal to communicate feeling and mood. Cymbolism is a new website that attempts to quantify the association between colors and words, making it simple for designers to choose the best colors for the desired emotional effect.

Shane Lavalette's photographs explore themes dealing with communication and human relationships. He often concentrates on interactions between subjects and environments as a sort of personal commentary on human existence. He sometimes works with singular portraits of people, deconstructing the common definion of a "portrait".
Shane strives to create a body of work that universally speaks to the emotional landscape of all human beings, pushing the possibilities of the photographic medium.

What kinds of subjects and ideas do your illustrations and animations explore?
I would say that they mainly focus around the idea of love and unrequited feelings. My illustrations are definitely spurred on by my relationships, past and present, both friendships and more personal relationships. I try to add humour to my work because it is more interesting for me to create and for other people to see, i think.
