Atsushi Fukunaga

Atsushi Fukunaga’s understated approach to his installation pieces belies the obsession behind them. His work hides under radiators, behind columns, or in the patterns on manholes. But closer inspection reveals an almost manic attention to detail, breaking down and reconstructing the minutiae of public spaces and galleries like a taxidermist whose tools are kanji and Arabic numerals rather than glass eyes and armatures.
