In simple but expressive drawings and sequences, the artist shows images of a urban life which leaves little hope left. On the edge between reality and imagination, personal and public, Amal Kenawy describes the condition of the city. Claustrophobic, almost maniac animations unveil memories, dreams, imaginations. She uses symbols, metaphors and signs in order to create an own world where she deals with people’s consciousness and unconsciousness, with pain and fear, power and violence.
