Gideon Rubin

I’m not quite sure what draws me to history. You could say that my work always had a sense of nostalgia. For years I’ve been drawn to old stuff, (old battered toys, yellowish World War II magazines). Its as those these objects carry certain history, hidden lives and by painting them I feel like I uncover some aspects of it. I think my work tries to deal with or understand this obsession.
