Jean-Luc Mylayne

Since the late 1970s, self-taught photographer Jean-Luc Mylayne has been taking pictures of birds: an ostensibly straightforward task and yet one that has yielded fewer than 200 images in three decades. Mylayne does not so much document the comings and goings of his feathered friends ethnographer-style as patiently attend them, waiting weeks, even months, for the perfect shot.
