Yuko Nasu

Yuko Nasu paints portraits inspired by the saturation of faces she encounters everyday. These gestural smears of paint almost remove the features from the face, leaving behind a trace of an eye or hint of mouth. Nasu is interested in painting a ‘nobody’, someone who no-one knows, yet reminds the audience of someone who they may know.
