Anna Molska




Anna Molska’s short videos draw on the post-Soviet imaginary and distil elements of early avant-garde movements such as Suprematism and Constructivism. Focusing on the performing body, she complicates the relationship between live action and utopian abstraction.

Jesus Loves Me 2005, (02:45)
A self-portrait of the artist in which first Molska does breath exercises, then sings the lyrics of ‘Jesus Loves Me’ by Coco Rosie while listening to the song on headphones. The girl seems to be innocent, but the lyrics contradict this appearance.
